Nelson Oliver Duarte and Ronald Duarte were convicted on four counts each of armed robbery of a bank or savings and loan association under 18 U.S.C. 2113(a) and (d). The evidence at trial consisted of identification by tellers from the various banks, photographs from bank surveillance cameras, and items taken from Ronald Duartes rented car or discovered as a result of Ronald Duartes arrest in his hotel room. The Duartes contend on appeal that the items seized in the hotel room should have been suppressed because the arresting officers did not knock and announce before entry. They further contend that Ronald Duartes statements revealing the location of the car were elicited in violation of his Miranda rights and should have been suppressed.
